Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets achieves the Runs on Atlassian badge
We’re excited to share that Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets has earned the Runs on Atlassian badge, which means the app now runs entirely within Atlassian’s own infrastructure, powered by their Forge platform. Here’s what that means for you, in plain terms.
What is the Runs on Atlassian badge, and why does it matter?
Forge is Atlassian’s own platform for building apps that run directly inside the Atlassian Cloud, not on external servers managed by the app vendor. Think of it as the difference between renting space in someone else’s building versus living inside a building that Atlassian itself controls, monitors, and secures.
For most apps, including ours until now, some data needs to pass through the vendor’s infrastructure for the app to work. With Atlassian Forge, that’s no longer the case.
What changes for you as a customer
Atlassian Forge takes our existing no-storage approach one step further: your data no longer passes through our infrastructure at all, even temporarily.
Everything Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence needs to function now runs entirely within your own Atlassian environment. Your tables, your data, your content – they stay exactly where they already live: inside Confluence, under Atlassian’s own security infrastructure.
This isn’t a small technical detail. It’s a meaningful shift in how much trust you need to place in us as a vendor. Your data never leaves Atlassian’s environment, which means its security no longer depends on our infrastructure at all.
Why we made this move
As a Platinum Atlassian Marketplace Partner with more than 15 years in the ecosystem, security and trust have always been part of how we build. Moving to Atlassian Forge early – ahead of most of the Marketplace – reflects that same priority. It’s also part of a broader direction Atlassian itself is pushing the ecosystem toward, and we wanted to be ahead of that curve rather than catching up to it later.
What you need to do as an administrator?
For most customers, the update requires minimal effort. Once your instance is ready, you’ll receive an email and an in-app notification from us. Please wait for that confirmation before updating the app.
When you do, the update itself is straightforward: find Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence in your Atlassian Administration under Connected apps and apply the update from there.
One thing to check: if your team uses CSV or JSON imports via URL, you’ll need to install a free companion app – Live Tables from CSV & JSON – to keep that functionality working after the migration. It’s developed and maintained by our team, free for all customers, and your existing configurations will be preserved, so nothing needs to be recreated from scratch.
Full step-by-step instructions are available in our documentation.
If you have any questions about this update, feel free to reach out to our support team.
