We’re delighted to present Handy Macros for Confluence Cloud. With the server and Data Center versions being so popular across teams around the globe, we started to develop the Cloud version in 2020 and delivered the most requested Handy Status macro on the Cloud platform. Today, Handy Macros is much more than just a status, with seven macros to choose from or combine. Still, this post focuses on the all-users-must-have Handy Status.

What is Handy Status for Confluence Cloud?

It’s like the Confluence Status macro, yet more powerful. Handy Status allows you to create dropdowns on pages, track the history of status changes, automatically update page labels based on the status, or switch statuses in the Page Properties and Page Properties Report macros in one click.

You no longer need to edit a page to change its status. Use Jira-like workflows for everyday task tracking. Save your time by choosing the right option from the pre-defined list of statuses.

There are just three steps to add more interactivity to your Confluence pages by switching statuses in the view mode.

Set up status sets

In the Apps section, add status sets and statuses within them for your company’s and teams’ needs. An appealing color scheme lets you adjust their look and design for better visibility on Confluence pages. You can also get started with the pre-defined status sets and instantly proceed to add them to your Confluence pages.

Insert Handy Status to your page

Insert the macro onto your Confluence page and select the appropriate status setHandy Status creates custom sets of dropdowns that can be inserted whenever you need them. Handy Status also allows adding the corresponding label to your page. So you can easily locate pages in a certain status later on.

You can fill out a table column with the statuses to use the functionality of dropdown lists. The Handy Status macro also plays well in combination with the Page Properties Report macro. If you add dynamic statuses in the Page Properties macros, you can switch them within the aggregated report.

Change statuses on the fly

This step is pretty easy. Just click the status in the view mode, select a new one, and that’s it! With Handy Status updating information on Confluence pages becomes much faster and saves your time for other action items during a day.

Track status updates

Our macro has more than just dropdowns and label synchronization to offer you. Click any Handy Status on a page and locate the Status History tab.  It immediately shows the details about the recent status updates including the user, date, and time. Status management in your Confluence becomes easier from now on.

Looks handy? That’s what our status is about. Try it in your Confluence Cloud to see how your team can benefit from it.
